Professor Ying is a senior investigator in AI-driven synthetic immunology, with research interests spanning major infectious diseases, oncology, and autoimmune disorders. His work integrates artificial intelligence with immunological engineering to advance the discovery, optimization, and translation of next-generation biologic therapeutics.

He has led more than ten major national research initiatives, including projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key Research and Development Program. His research output includes over 170 SCI-indexed publications in leading international journals such as Cell and Nature Biotechnology. He holds more than 30 granted or filed patents and has driven the translational development of multiple biologic drug candidates for major diseases, with nine investigational new drug approvals obtained to date.

His scientific and translational contributions have been widely recognized. He has received the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Award for Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements, the First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and the U.S. Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer. He is also a recipient of the Shanghai Youth May Fourth Medal, the Fudan University Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award, and the Liao Kaiyuan Most Popular Teacher Award.
